Water Restrictions

Watering Rules
Strict watering rules are in effect for Temple Terrace and nearby areas.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District has imposed water-conservation measures for the Tampa Bay area. The rules apply to Temple Terrace and other areas except where stricter measures are imposed by local governments. The rules in unincorporated Hillsborough County and the City of Tampa, for example, may vary from those in Temple Terrace.

The following restrictions are in effect for residents who receive water service from the City of Temple Terrace:

Lawn watering days and times for the twice-per-week schedule are as follows:
    • Even addresses may water on Thursday and/or Sunday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
    • Odd addresses may water on Wednesday and/or Saturday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
    • Locations without a discernible address, such as rights-of-way and other common areas inside a subdivision, may water on Tuesday and/or Friday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
Plants & Shrubbery
Hand-watering of plants and shrubs (other than lawns) may be done at any time, as needed.

New Lawns
New lawns and plants have a "30-30" establishment period. On the day of installation, watering is allowed on any day at any time. During the first 30 days, watering is allowed on any day during the allowable hours. During second 30 days, watering is allowed three days a week: even-numbered addresses may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday; odd-numbered addresses may water on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Locations without a discernible address may water on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

When establishing new lawns, please advise the Public Works Department at (813) 506-6570. Staff will issue you a temporary placard
so that you will not be cited for watering violations.
