TEMPLE TERRACE WELCOMES NEW MAYOR
Mayor Jurado swearing in 11-07-2017Dr. Mel Jurado was sworn in as the City's new mayor Tuesday evening, November 7, 2017.  Mayor Jurado was greeted by a full-house of family, friends, visitors and honored guests as she entered the Council Chambers just after 6 pm.  Bagpipers played as she stepped to the front of the room and joined her husband, Rod.  

Appellate Judge Emiliano José Salcines of the Florida Second District Court of Appeals administered the oath of office.

Following her swearing-in,  Mayor Jurado took her place in the center chair at the Council dais.  After delivering a brief statement expressing her gratitude to supporters, the community and city staff, she quickly transitioned to her new position presiding over the business before Council.
